Christmas is just around the corner and I am as busy as a bee. I have just a couple more sneak peeks coming before I leave you guys until January. I am not a fan of seasonal pictures. I am also not a fan of "sets" at all. However, I had this idea come to mind one morning and my little head gears starting turning like crazy. I have had this mantle stored for years, ya see. It is original to my home and I knew some day I would use it for something, so I kept it. I love this something!!! If I ever had to pick a favorite family photo, OR favorite Christmas session, this would definitely be it, hands down. I love my "new" old mantle. Enjoy!!!

It's so, so hard to get photos of your own children when you are a photographer. You know, the cobbler's children have no shoes. It seems though, that the older she gets, the more she wants to be in front of my camera. So now, when I have to test a new spot, or check out the lighting, she is more than willing to jump right up. So, here you have, my mini me, helping test this weekend's spot.

And of course when I ask her if she wants to tag along with me to one of her besties sessions, what does she say?!?! "Yay, yay, yay!!!"

What a crazy busy, but super fun weekend we had out here in the country. I spent the first part of Saturday helping my black lab, Shiloh. She decided that the first day of Spring Minis was the perfect time to bless us with 3 beautiful lab puppies. Just after the birth of the last one I had to rush and get all packed up for 5 super fun minis, then home for a little bit of rest, then right back Sunday afternoon for round 2. Thanks again to everyone that dropped off donations for the victims of last week's terrible storms. Every little thing helps! So...lets get to the first big peek, shall we?!?! 2011 Spring Minis

They're finally ready...All the details for the Spring Minis. These will be held back to back, every 30 minutes, starting at 4:00 on Saturday, April 30th and Sunday, May 1st. I will be filling up Sunday first then spilling back to Saturday if needed. The location is at The Sims Farm here in Talladega. There is an old barn, wooden fences, an old gravel road, and grassy, flowing fields for days and days. I will have lots and lots of vintage props...patchwork quilts, chairs (one huge and velvet), colas and cream sodas in glass bottles with straws, and the list goes on and on, but you get the idea. These are going to be so, so, so crazy awesome!!! Three spots have already booked so these are going to go so fast and space is very limited. Next up...my adorable bride and groom for July. These two were so, so, so much fun to photograph. We laughed, climbed fences (with barbed wire may I add), we were stalked by horses (we think they just wanted the apple), battled 3 inch long thorns from the pits of evilville, and bumble bees, wow the bumble bees....I do not like bees. I think you can pretty much say that this session has me super duper stoked about this wedding.

2010 Christmas Minis

It's getting close to that time of year again ladies and gentleman. I know with it being 100 degrees out it's hard to even think about Christmas being just right around the corner, but Santa will be packing up his sleigh before we know it. So with that being said...it's time to start scheduling our 2010 Christmas Minis. This year we have two different packages. With both...you are the boss. You pick your own package. So if you need lots of cards then you get lots of cards...if you don't want cards and just want prints then you get that too. It's all up to you!!! We will have an afternoon of minis back to back on October 24th starting at 3:30 and ending at 6:30, in downtown Talladega. These will go super, super fast and space is limited so don't wait to reserve your spot. If you miss out, don't worry. Starting September 7th and ending October 29th I will be doing morning minis twice per week (one per morning)...Nobody will be left out. These are just like our any time of the year sessions. We will not make you wear the sweater with bells that Aunt Mildred made for you and we will definitely not make you sit on fake snow in front of a painted backdrop. These are just quick and fun and all about you, that's it. You can email me from the contact page above, comment here under this post with your name and email address or send me a comment on our facebook page to get your spot reserved. Keep in mind, I have been experiencing some problems with my email, so if you do not get a response within 24 hours try again.

Our Christmas calendar is officially full apart from our minis. I will however still be doing sessions up until December 1st, but after October 30th it is not guaranteed that you will have proofs ready before Christmas. All orders must be completed by December 1st (no custom items after October 30th)...No exceptions!!!

I cannot even begin to express to you how excited I am about our new Christmas Card Collection. I think it's safe to say that we have a little something for everyone this year. We will of course still be bringing back favorites from 2009 (those can be seen on the facebook page). All of these are 5x7s and are completely customizable to say just about anything you want them to say. The color is customizable and can be changed to traditional reds and greens or just about whatever tickles your fancy. All of our cards are printed on professional card stock in a beautiful linen, matte, or pearl texture and white envelopes are included. These are not just for upcoming sessions. For those of you that have already had a session with us this year, we have a little perk for you. You can use images from your past session and receive 10% off of your card order. No need to book a session just for cards. We'll go pull your old pics from storage and fix them up, good as new. For those of you that have not booked with us yet, we will be announcing details for our Christmas minis tomorrow. Weighing in at just over 9 pounds (at only 6 days old if I may)...I thought I would have my hands full with a strong, solid little man. He is strong...but he has the longest, most limber legs I have ever seen. He let me curl him in every way possible, and just so, so sleepy. He is part of the 4Th generation of our family...carrying on my Papa's strong name. He would be so proud. As I heard someone say the day he was born...he will do great things. of her lost love. April 30Th I was to photograph this gorgeous young lady's wedding. Since I did not post a huge peek from her wedding you can see that day never came. The love of her life passed away just 9 days shy of what was suppose to be the happiest day of their lives. So when you look at this sneak peek and wonder why these images are so dark and completely different than my norm...you will understand the sadness and loss that you see. Whitney...I cannot begin to imagine the sadness and pain that you feel. You are so much stronger than you realize. Keep you head up and keep smiling. doll baby, little diva, adorable...I could go on for days. This little girl is so, so, so cute!!! I've been waiting to meet her for a long, long time and after getting rained out 2 weeks ago, we decided to just go ahead with it today and hope for the best. The weather was on our side, for the first time in several months. It seems I've had to move everyone around because of rainy weekends, but not today...it held out just long enough to play a little. She was such a trooper and we were finished in no time...just shy of a nice little Spring rain. We have another big wedding weekend coming up so be sure to check back here at the beginning of next week to get a little peek. chunky monkey. Today is his first birthday. I'm pretty sure he knew it was but just in case he did not, there is no doubt he did when he left. We sang Happy Birthday to him with with great enthusiasm at least 11 times. He was one happy little man, and I mean happy, like the entire session. That is until we were finished and had to hose off all the cake. Poor little fellow...he wanted to stay and play in the water hose. Total country boy and nothing else. I had so much fun with him. I love watching these little people grow up right in front of me and I especially love being a part of it all. You all know how much I love black and whites, but I can't hide all of these colorful Spring outfits, brand new green grass, and all these gorgeous baby blue eyes...it just wouldn't be right. This is my gorgeous cousin with her beautiful family. We had so much fun!!! We started in town but with one little girl that wants to run like the wind and one barely able to sit on his own (on concrete) that was not such a bright idea. So we headed to the country where we could be as loud and crazy as we wanted, and we were finished in no time. The big day...

has finally come to pass. Just in case you haven't heard yet...yesterday was our first wedding. What an amazing experience. The bride, the groom, the weather, the flowers, the cake, etc...etc...etc. It was all perfect!!! We spent the entire day with this family and was made to feel at home by each and every one of them. Sweet, sweet people! The day went by so fast and before we knew it, it was already time to head out to the reception and party hardy. I could have stayed with them all night long but could not wait to get home and start sifting through all of our hard work. Bliss, Lance and everyone else...thank you so much for such an amazing day!!! You guys have hundreds and hundreds of memories that you will cherish a lifetime and I am so proud to be apart of it all. I have been admiring all of your pretty faces all day and have just about done myself in. So without any further ado, here is an insanely huge peek for you. there is nothing in the world like becoming a mommy and daddy, and I am so, so honored to watch it all unfold. Just three very short weeks ago I was photographing this little princess in her mommy's perfect little baby bump...now at just one week old today she is even more precious than I expected. She grinned, and smirked and had the sweetest little whimpers. I think I remember mentioning that if you like bellies and babies as much as I do you better hold onto your hats, and well...you are about to see that I'm not kidding...this still is not the last. Just a little peeky peek from a fantastic and super, super fun engagement session yesterday. We went to quite a few new spots and tried a few new things. We even got invited into our old Junior High gymnasium and boy did that place bring back memories...it even smelled the same. Good times... that did not get to make it to our first session...So I went to visit with them yesterday so I could get some sweet Daddy & Son moments. Had a much needed laugh. Like a belly laugh, I could not catch me breath. I even had to sit my camera down. Black t'shirt=6 dollars, Black muslin backdrop = fifty dollars, Daddy getting tinkled on while letting his guard down to catch a fallen paci= priceless. I had the pleasure of photographing this little guy just 3 weeks ago in his mommy's tummy and at only 12 days young today, he's even more beautiful than I expected. Baby bumps and newborns just happen to be my two favorite things to photograph and if you enjoy 'em as much as I do, well, you better get ready because I've got lots more coming to visit with me over the next couple of months. Daddy was not able to make it today so you'll be getting another tiny little peek of this little man later in the week. So, so, so adorable!!! Only 12 weeks young, she already loves baby dolls and looking at herself in the mirror. A girly girl in the making. This is not the first time you'll be seeing this tiny princess. She made her first appearance just before Christmas. She was the squishy little face under the teeny red Santa hat. And I'm off...Let's start this week with some super duper adorable faces why don't we?!?! These two kiddies were suppose to come visit with me last weekend, but with all the nasty weather we had, we decided to wait until yesterday, and oh my goodness, let me tell ya, we were glad we did. It was so, so gorgeous. We even broke out a blue jean mini skirt for girlfriend and all her cuteness. They wanted nothing much to do with my camera and me and definitely did not want to cuddle with each other and give hugs and sugars, but to your surprise Momma...guess what...we managed to get some of the cutest little shots ever. but who really notices (or minds) when you are working with a family this beautiful?!?! I have said this before, I know, and you will probably hear me say it 4,897 times more, but this is the cutest little boy EVER. I mean seriously, look at these huge, and I mean huge blue eyes. Just melts my heart!!! If he is already this gorgeous at 6 months...just imagine...Dads, you better be lockin' up your daughters. Of course when you have parents this pretty, what do you expect?!?! In honor of Valentine's Day I had to throw a little red in this session, which as you can see, this little man rocked it like a pro. Mommy and Daddy, I hope your little monkey feels much better in a few days and I'll be in touch before you know it with the rest, and you have lots. Until then...Enjoy!!!

sun shiny day!!! Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous...was it not?!?! This is the first session I've had in the sunshine in a long, long time, and I had two big smiles to make it even brighter. I know I told you all that we would be making a big announcement today with a super cute pic to go with it but we'll have to hold off on this big reveal just a tad longer. Me and this chickiepoo go way, way back. We actually started in pre-school together and then became great friends my freshman year in high school (OK, OK...that was almost 15 years ago). I first met her sweet hubby right after they first met 10 years ago. Way before she even knew he was "the one." She moved away right after that and we haven't seen each other until this fabulous little session we had yesterday, so we had lots of catching up to do. That was not a problem...we had tons of time and lots of locations to visit. B&D, it was great seeing you both and catching up. Y'all are just too cute together. I know you are needing something to brighten your day, so lets get on with this fabulous little peek I've got for you!!!
